It was the perfect summer evening on Monday 27 June, when over 70 members of the legal profession embarked on a 10 km challenge and raised funds to support access to justice in Ipswich and East Anglia. Walkers followed the route which meandered across Christchurch Park and through the town’s sights, giving them the perfect opportunity to enjoy a lovely, sunny evening whilst showing their support for local legal advice services.

We had a grand total of 12 teams sign up, with the biggest team on the day coming from Suffolk Law Advice Service.

A big congratulations also goes out to Suffolk Law Advice Service and Attwells Solicitors, who topped the fundraising table, each raising over £400. This is a huge achievement and we are very grateful to these teams for pulling out all the stops to raise as much money as possible to support access to justice.

The event was held in partnership with the ISCRE and Suffolk Law Advice Service who also joined the walk in order to fundraise for their organisation. The advice service is often the last resort for local people facing difficult and distressing legal circumstances without the means to pay for private legal advice. The funds raised by the Ipswich Legal Walk, and the ELST as a whole, will go to support the Law Advice Service as well as other organisations, that work throughout the region and help thousands of people every year navigate the complicated legal system.

This event was supported by our generous sponsors, Birketts and Suffolk and North East Law Society, who sponsored the welcoming finish line reception. Thanks also to Nick Barber Architects for sponsoring some well-deserved mid-way ice creams!

The walk has broken all previous records, raising over £1790 so far. Without your contribution the Ipswich Legal Walk and the work of the ELST would not be possible.

Please continue to fundraise and ensure that we can help more vital services than ever before.

It was a lovely sunny evening on Monday 20 June for 52 members of the legal profession who embarked on an 8 km challenge and raised funds to support access to justice in Chelmsford and East Anglia. The route took in the lovely sights the town has to offer and the weather was light and breezy, a perfect day to walk and raise money for a vital cause.

We had a grand total of 13 teams signed up with the biggest team on the day coming from Essex Legal Services!

A big congratulations goes out to Trinity Chambers, who topped the fundraising table having raised £545! This is a huge achievement and we are very grateful to their team who pulled out all the stops to raise as much money as possible to support access to justice.

We were joined by Chelmsford Citizens Advice Bureau and The Personal Support Unit. These charities are often the last resort for people facing difficult and distressing legal circumstances and find themselves unable to pay for private legal advice. The funds raised by the Chelmsford Legal Walk, and the ELST as a whole, will go to support these charities and others, throughout the region, helping thousands of people every year navigate the complicated legal system.

This event was supported by our generous sponsor, Fisher Jones Greenwood, who sponsored the welcoming finish line reception. It was a perfect end to a fantastic walk and the drinks were very well received by our thirsty walkers.

The walk has broken all previous records, raising over £1,700 so far. Without your contribution the Chelmsford Legal Walk and the work of the ELST would not be possible.

It was an exciting day on Monday 13 June for 135 members of the legal profession who embarked on a 10 km challenge and raised funds to support access to justice in Cambridge. The route took in the lovely sights the city has to offer, including the lesser well known parts of the city by the river. Despite the weather being overcast and rainy, our walkers carried on with smiles on their faces whilst raising money for a vital cause.

We had a grand total of 18 teams signed up with the biggest teams on the day coming from Hewitsons and Taylor Vinters!

A big congratulations goes out to Cambridge Citizens Advice Bureau, who topped the fundraising table having raised over £1130! This is a huge achievement and we are very grateful to our team who pulled out all the stops to raise as much money as possible to support access to justice.

We were joined by a local charity on the walk, the Cambridge Citizens Advice Bureau, who had registered a team for the event. Charities such as the CAB are often the last resort for people facing difficult and distressing legal circumstances and find themselves unable to pay for private legal advice. The funds raised by the Cambridge Legal Walk, and the ELST as a whole, will go to support these charities and more throughout the region, helping thousands of people every year navigate the complicated legal system.

The walkers were greeted with a reception near the finish line, where they could rest their legs and hear from representatives of the Trust and lead walkers about the impact such events have on widening access to justice.

The walk has broken all previous records, raising over £4,060 so far. Without your contribution the Cambridge Legal Walk and the work of the ELST would not be possible.

Please continue to fundraise and ensure that we can help more vital services than ever before.
