The ELST's first major fundraising event was a sponsored legal walk in Cambridge on 16 May 2011. The 2011 Walk was led by His Honour Judge Patrick Moloney QC, Designated Civil Judge for the East of England; and His Honour Judge David Mackie QC, designated Mercantile Judge for London & South East. The event was kindly sponsored by the Law Society of England and Wales, and Mills &
Reeve LLP.
It was attended by teams of walkers from organisations right across the East of England: Barr Ellison LLP, Mills & Reeve LLP, Luton Advice Network, Ipswich and Suffolk Council for Racial Equality, Birketts LLP, Chartered Institute of Legal Executives, Fenners Chambers, Miller Sands Solicitors, Cambridge CAB, Fisher Jones Greenwood Solicitors, Cambridge Magistrates Court, and the Residential Property Tribunal
Service.
The teams collectively raised over £4000 and the Trust is hugely grateful to each of these organisations and
their walkers for the support. The 2011 flier can be viewed here; photographs here. A full write-up of the Trust's inaugural walk can be found in the Access to Justice Foundation & legal support trusts' Summer 2011 newsletter.
